Mobile Landline VOIP Integration

Why on earth would you want a VOIP Mobile and Landline Vox operated interface ? read on !

Well it is happening faster than most of us imagine, The Congregation of Proximity services has begun with products like Mobivox. As the technology for automated voice assisted routing and call hand off accelerates we'll see the hegemony of the telco and comms equipment providers fall by the wayside.

What's it all mean ?

Voice Services that automatically route and provide personal least cost routing of calls is now a reality.
However, the reality is that this is a market so new it's almost hard to understand. The only way to describe it is that our good old telephone handset addiction is coming to an end. The world of Proximity is approaching enabled by the combination of these emerging technologies.

Will my 8 week old daughter understand call forwarding ? and Voicemail ? I think not. The next wave of Toddlers will expect that their communications will be Full DUPLEX multi-channel and essentially chargefree.

We will become immersed in sea of talk, I hope we teach our youngest to SPEAK not just talk.

Travelling on line

A Recent discussion with a worldly traveller yeilded this little gem:

"Here's my Tip for business and pleasure travellers with the ususal host of electronics power adapters and chargers.

Before Leaving
Identify all of your auto-switching power supply equipment, (leave the others behind)
Buy a cheap (and therefore lightweight) 4 port power Board (AU$3.99) that you can afford to lose or ditch if space becomes an issue on the return leg.

On arriving at the DEparting Airport
Dont Forget!
When you get to your outbound airport or destination locale buy a universal and usually ubiquitous power adapter ($15 US ) to connect the power board's 4 into one hotel/room socket.

On arrival at your Destination
Go Crazy and use all of your gear, and IF you run the batteries Flat ! DON'T PAMIC!
How will you charge all those items in the budget hotel with just one power socket behind the minibar ?

In your Hotel Room
Remember Don't Panic!
BUT do check that your adapters can handle the local power 110V/ 60Hz or 220/240 /50 HZ
Now one by one connect your New adapter to the cheap 4 Port power board you bought and
Voilla! you have plenty of capacity for phone + laptop + Blackberry +Shaver + Satellite dish +Camera + baby bottle warmer etc etc.

Even the most well equipped comunicator has to sleep ! So you're batteries will be nicely charged before your jetlag is over"

Video Presence

Linksys.com - Products/Business Solutions/Cameras/WVC200
This LinkSys camera is part of the new bread of Proximity tools to come on the the market, It offers the basics for under $500 that would have cost $5000 only 2 years ago. Its wireless nature and remote control features are made useful for remote presence by the 10 person multi view capacity.
More on this Device and it's cultural impact when I implement one in our Webex and Skype Environemnts
