If you're like me then having time to think is a true luxury. Task and communication overload compresses the day into a series of value exchanges that often leaves little time for consideration.
I've just spent/ invested / or wasted 40 minutes of valuable time catching up on some todo's that have sat unprioritised in the back of my mindspace for some months. I had some areas in both text and Visual realms to investigate.
Don't laugh, I finally had time to look at tiny URL service and of course to test it I scanned some of my subscribed spam for a long URL and created this BIG tiny url http://tinyurl.com/fluxcapacitor
The irony of tiny url's is that they let you make a url that can be BIGGER than the original. This means it can carry its own meaning BEFORE you click. In a world of compression perhaps a longer URL could be good?
In the visual realm I installed GoogleTalk video Conference Client on my XP platform. I await a like minded soul to try it out. I also spent some time looking at I believe will be the next interface trend, CoolIRIS. It's a big leap and will bridge us into the gesture based communications realm easily. I even found a feeling within, a rare moment of connection with some propaganda from a recent AU_US political meeting have a look and tell me the world is the same now that two leaders let their staff post "happy-snaps" on Flickr?

Tweeting goes Jpeg
Prioritising from your in box is a nightmare I live so Late last year I declared a Triage system and have since taken some time to look outside my in box for the next tsunami of todo's. I wanted some way of selectively publishing my status AND subscribing to others. In a way I already use Sametime, Facebook, Linked-in and Skype's status facilities for different parts of my world but as it is the overhead is just too much to keep them in sync.
I found of course Tweeting via Twitter. Late last qtr in 2008 I joined the flock and have to say found the experience a little less than productive. I was looking I expect for a way to dynamically link all of my disparate status's into one interface. Its yet to come but in an immature niche there is always a fast starter. Tracking your world via RSS Feed is one thing, following the flock and tweeting is much more interactive, but now we have a new dimension Twitpic!
Simple It adds Pictures were 140 Characters could convey some basics Twitpic fill in the gaps. How Deliciously simple.
In a few short years Twitter text will be a little like the scaffolding that surrounded the pyramids - GONE Twitpic could not have existed without twitter and will by my reckoning become the next killer app. Even FEDEX and UPS will have to TWIPIC parcel locations lets See if Noah Everett can survive the ride?
