Wireless Internet has been the poor cousin in many ways for most of the developed world.  Performance has been notably hit and miss and the mainstream engineering ethos has been often characterised by the refrain 'What do you expect? its WIRELESS !'. Clearly technologists have dropped the ball in most respects as modern human activity is destined to be wireless.
